How does enrollment work?
To apply to The Birches Academy of Academics & Art Preschool Program for the 2025-2026 academic year, please complete this application. Applications for Preschool must be received no later than Midnight on Monday, January 27, 2025 to be considered for the Preschool Program. Current families and staff are given preference and then it is first come, first served for the general public.
Registration Dates:
Current Birches Family and Staff: Friday December 13th-Friday December 27th
General Public: January 3, 2025-January 27th, 2025 on a first come first serve basis
Enrollment would be confirmed by Monday February 3, 2025 with enrollment and a non-refundable $100 deposit due by March 1, 2025. This would come off the total tuition due.
How much will it cost?
The cost of the program is $9,100 per year, divided into 10 installments of $900 each, due on the 15th of each month from August through May. A deposit of $100 is due upon acceptance and will be deductd from the total amount due.
If you pay in full by August 15th, you will receive a 5% discount.
A sibling discount of 5% is available if you have two or more students enrolled in the Preschool Program.
If you leave the program mid-month, you will not receive a refund for that month, but no further payments will be required.
What are the hours?
The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:25 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., following the same schedule as our school day. We do not have a ½ day program at this time.
Preschool students cannot attend Early Birds or Night Owls.
The program follows The Birches Academy school calendar for snow days, holidays, and vacations.
Students in Salem are NOT eligible to take the bus.
What does the day look like?
For the 2025-2026 school year, the classroom will have 14 students, one lead teacher, and one assistant teacher. The daily schedule will include a balance of art, music, creative play, and exposure to foundational skills to prepare for kindergarten readiness. We are working on making a seamless transition into our kindergarten program.
How old do you have to be?
To enroll in the 2025-2026 school year program, children must be 4 years old by September 30, 2025, and must be able to use the bathroom independently.
Who can attend?
Any child who meets the age cutoff, regardless of state residency, is eligible to attend. However, in order to attend our K-8 school, you mustbe a New Hampshire resident.
Will my child automatically get into the Kindergarten program at The Birches Academy?
Enrollment in the Preschool Program does not guarantee a spot in the Kindergarten program, except for siblings of current Birches Academy students. Per state law, all non-sibling applicants must enter the Kindergarten lottery if they wish to attend.
Can my child participate in the Lunch Program?
Yes, students can participate in The Birches Academy Lunch Program.
Do you have a nurse on staff? How do you handle allergies?
Yes, we have a nurse on staff. We are a nut-aware facility, taking active steps to minimize the risk of exposure to nuts (peanuts and tree nuts) to protect individuals with allergies. However, we are not a nut-free facility.
Can I tour the facility?
We have tour dates set up on our website here. The space is still being built and as soon as the space is ready we will have an open house to see the actual classroom.
